Through a Federal Regional Capacity Building Grant (funded as part of the American Recovery and Revitalization Act), TRORC and other Regional Planning Commissions are working together to develop a network of contacts in communities and local sectors to assess where promising opportunities are available to develop broadband adoption and/or access. This work is guided by the strategies described in the Vermont Telecommunications Plan and other ongoing state-level efforts. Regional Technology Planning Teams have been formed to plan and realize these opportunities and RPCs are overseeing the development of a strategy for the tech teams to formulate integrated technology plans with local and regional stakeholders. Once complete, the Regional technology plans will be formalized and made available to the State Capacity Building Director.
