Because of the severe nature of flooding in many areas, some restrictions regarding ACT250, Stream Alteration Permits, Rights of Way, and CDL drivers have been lifted by Governor Shumlin. If you need to get in the river/stream to retrieve your materials, you have permission to, provided that you follow guidance issued by the State of Vermont (see below). Engineers must be notified and give at least verbal confirmation that you may proceed with any post-Irene stream alterations.
Recognizing that recovery in the aftermath of a statewide flood disaster requires extensive in-stream work, the Department of Environmental Conservation's (DEC) Rivers Program will assist landowners, municipalities, and other agencies as they conduct emergency work. DEC staff will ensure that rebuilding occurs in the best possible way in order to minimize loss from the next flood event.
