Bethel
Crews began milling at the Bethel end of the project on Monday and are currently working between Whitcomb High School and just south of Watershed Road.

Although milling operations typically leave a grooved asphalt road surface, for the most part, all of the asphalt is being removed and the milled areas of VT 12 are now a hard packed subbase material.  This condition could subject these areas to the formation of pot holes during and after rain events and result in dusty conditions.  Crews will be maintaining pot holes that develop and performing dust control measures throughout the milled areas. There will be limited pavement markings in these areas and cones will be used to delineate the edge of the roadway.

Motorists are encouraged to reduce speed and use caution traveling through this section of the project.  Crews are expecting this road condition to extend throughout the entire project during milling.

Construction operations will require travel to be reduced to alternating one-way travel around the construction packages. Traffic control personnel will be present to assist in maintaining traffic flow.

Traffic – Traffic delays can be expected this week.  Motorists are encouraged to allow for additional time to travel through the construction project.

It is illegal in VT to use any handheld portable electronic devices while driving. The law carries fines of up to $200 with points assessed if the violation occurs in a work zone.
