Grants

Financial assistance is available from federal, state, and private sources for communities interested in watershed protection, conservation, and research. Many grants involve federal funds, and TRORC is available to help communities apply for and administer these grants. USDA Wetland Reserve Program - The Wetlands Reserve Program is a voluntary program offering landowners the opportunity to protect, restore, and enhance wetlands on their property. The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) provides technical and financial support to help landowners with their wetland restoration efforts.

State Funding Sources

Vermont Clean Water State Revolving Fund - The Clean Water State Revolving Fund combines state and federal money to provide low interest loans for municipalities, not-for-profit organizations, private entities, or other state agencies working towards wetland preservation, restoration, and creation projects. Vermont Watershed Grants Program - Projects needing $5000 or less, and groups new to fundraising are especially encouraged to apply.

Connecticut River Partnership Program - The Connecticut River Joint Commissions’ Partnership Program awards grants of $5,000 or less to local residents and communities for innovative, community-generated projects that address economic and conservation challenges.
