The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets, in partnership with our Vermont dairy farmers, is proud to announce that 2017 Vermont Milk Cooler Sponsorship applications can now be found on our Farm to School Grant Program website!

In order to ensure Vermont students have access to fresh, nutritious dairy products, the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets can help schools pay for a milk cooler. These funds have been made available through the Vermont Dairy Promotion Fund, supported by Vermont’s dairy farmers. Up to $1,000 is available to each school toward purchase of a new milk cooler. No payment to a school can exceed the total cost of the cooler purchase. The deadline for applications is December 15, 2016.

On our website, you will also find a new report and a 4-page guide to milk service in Vermont schools, produced in collaboration with the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets, Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, Chittenden Solid Waste District, and Food Connects, with funding from the Vermont Dairy Promotion Council and the Vermont Community Foundation. These new resources focus on decision-making around the purchase of a new milk cooler, which is especially helpful for schools considering the move to bulk milk dispensing coolers.
