High Meadows expects to support 4-6 teams of communities working together within a watershed. The funds are intended to support multi-town watershed planning and early action. Letters of intent are due February 10th, 2017. Applicants are encouraged to attend the Leahy Center’s Environmental Summit, to be held at ECHO March 24-25, 2017. Full applications are due June 1, 2017.
This RFP follows High Meadows’ 2015 support six Vermont watersheds. For more on 2015-2017 grants, watch the video here.
As Kim Smith, project leader for the Saxtons River watershed team (funded in 2015) commented,
“A very rich dynamic has developed through having a collaboration comprised of town officials, government agencies and non-profit organizations. By bringing together local knowledge, established relationships and technical capacity, the Collaborative has had much greater power in being able to complete its projects.”
