General Funding Opportunities for Businesses

• USDA-RD Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) – This program is open to agricultural producers and rural small businesses to conduct various types of energy projects. Financing is provided through a combination of grants and loans. Contact USDA’s Vermont & New Hampshire office for more information.
• Efficiency Vermont Business Energy Loan – Fixed interest rate loans of up to $50,000. Terms as long as ten years, as little as zero money down, and no closing costs.
• Performance-Based Contracts — This type of contract typically guarantees that the client achieves energy savings that are equal to or greater than the payments they make to the contractor. These contracts often include performance monitoring and maintenance in addition to installation.
