2016 Town Officers Education Conferences
Apr 20 all-day

Registration is now open for the
2016 Town Officers Education Conferences

Registration is open! The annual Town Officers’ Education Conferences, which provide training for more than 300 municipal officials and citizen volunteers, are scheduled for three Vermont locations in April 2016.

https://www.regonline.com/toec2016

The conferences, now in their 71st year, are organized by University of Vermont Extension in partnership with several participating organizations. They are designed to help town clerks, planners, listers, select board members and other officials do their jobs more effectively by providing updates on tax laws and regulations, municipal recordkeeping and effective strategies for handling planning, zoning and other town issues. Browse this year’s workshop descriptions.

Curious about TOEC? Take a look at this year’s conference Save the Date (PDF) to learn more! Registration will be $71 in honor of our 71st year. And don’t forget about our sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities!

Important Notice: As of April 6, the cost of registration will increase to $75. If using a credit card, payment is due at registration. If paying by cash or check, then the registration fee will be due by the conference date.

Large-Scale Development and Rural Planning @ Royalton Academy Building
Apr 25 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Recent information about the NewVista Foundation’s vision which includes the development of a planned community on land in the towns of Tunbridge, Strafford, Royalton and Sharon have raised concerns about the potential impacts large scale developments could have on our communities.

Join the Staff of the Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission to discuss how large scale development concepts such as the NewVista vision interact with:

  • Vermont’s Planning Goals
  • Act 250
  • The Regional Plan
  • Local Plans and Regulations

Because the primary focus of the meeting relates to planning and land use regulation, it is intended for local officials, but all are welcome to attend and join in the discussion.
