HELP STAGECOACH STUFF-THE-BUS
Sep 3 @ 10:00 am – 7:00 pm

HELP STAGECOACH STUFF-THE-BUS
When You Give Food You Give Hope
Randolph, Vermont….. On Saturday, September 3rd, Stagecoach will host its 2nd Annual Stuff-the-Bus event to raise awareness and collect donations for local food shelves. Stagecoach buses will be parked at Shaw’s in Randolph and Hannaford’s in Bradford from 10:00am to 7:00pm to collect donations of food, which will then be delivered to food shelves in Randolph, Bethel, Rochester, Bradford, Wells River and Fairlee. Last year, the Bradford area event collected more than 1,300 pounds of food items.
In this region, one out of every four people is at risk of stuck at home without access to transportation or food. Stagecoach leaders decided to create the Stuff the Bus event to further assist community members most in need. Community Relations Manager, Laura Perez said, “Many of our riders have limited incomes. While we are proud to help them by providing low-cost transportation, we recognized there were other ways we could help, too. Stuff the Bus is part of our effort to improve the health of the community by supporting our partners at the food shelves.”
Please join Stagecoach in making the community a safer, healthier, and happier place to live, play and work.
Ways to Help Stagecoach Stuff-the-Bus:
 Organize a food drive at your organization and bring friends to load it on the bus
 Volunteer to help accept donations on Saturday 9/3
 Volunteer to help distribute donations to the food shelves on Sunday 9/4
 Volunteer to spread the word about the event- pass out flyers, post in church bulletin, talk to friends, post on Facebook
 Have a “giving party”- instead of gifts, ask friends to bring a non-perishable food item to donate
Want to volunteer? Call or email Laura Perez and let her know! 802-728-3773 or [email protected].
Stagecoach improves the economic, social, and environmental health of the region by providing safe and accessible community transportation services for everyone. For more information, please contact us at 802-728-3773 or on the web at www.stagecoach-rides.org.

Stagecoach’s purpose is to enhance the economic, social and environmental health of the region by providing safe, reliable, affordable and accessible community transportation services for everyone in the communities it serves.

Stagecoach operates two parallel and complementary transportation systems to achieve its goals.

The Dial-A-Ride System includes transportation programs that focus on elders, persons with disabilities, and low-income families and individuals. These services enhance Stagecoach’s ability to provide comprehensive transportation alternatives for all residents in its service area. Depending on eligibility, Dial-A-Ride may be free or subsidized. Rides are typically provided by

volunteer drivers or our Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible buses when necessary.

Ticket to Ride provides door-to-door transportation to a variety of destinations including grocery stores, medical appointments, work, errands, and social events. This is a free service for riders over the age of 60 and those with disabilities when there is no other transportation available in the household.

The Medicaid Transportation program provides free transportation for Medicaid-eligible residents who need access to medical appointments. This is a free service for all Medicaid- eligible residents of Barnard, Bethel, Bridgewater, Hartford, Hartland, Norwich, Pomfret, Rochester, Royalton, Sharon, Stockbridge, and Woodstock, who do not have access to a vehicle and need a medical transport.

The Fixed Route System connects passengers to employment and shopping centers. The Commuter Service connects passengers from the I-89 and I-91 corridors to employment centers in Montpelier, Randolph, White River Junction, Hanover, and Lebanon.

The Shopping Trips connect passengers from the Route 100, Route 125, and I-89 corridors to retail commercial districts in Randolph VT and West Lebanon NH. The Maxi Taxi provides door- to-door service in the Randolph Area Monday thru Friday between 9:30 and 3:00.  The Circulator provides consistent, local service for everyone in the Bradford, Newbury, and Wells River Areas Monday-Friday between 8:30am and 4:30pm.

…Check back next week to see how these services have impacted the lives of Vermonters…

The New Statewide Property Parcel Mapping Program, July 2016

Primary Information Contact: Leslie Pelch, Property Parcel Mapping Program Manager, VT Center for Geographic Information, 802-882-3002, [email protected]

TRORC Regional Meeting: Monday September 12th at Vermont Law School

11:30am to 1pm, Hoff Lounge, first floor of Oakes Hall

RSVP to Pete Fellows, TRORC, 457-3188, [email protected]

What is the Statewide Property Parcel Mapping Program Project?

  • A project funded by the VT Agency of Transportation to create or update parcel data (the mapping data that depicts ownership boundaries on tax maps, plus associated attributes, like SPAN) to meet the state data standard over 3 years AND to establish an ongoing Program to support annual updates to that data. The Vermont Center for Geographic Information is providing staff and coordination to the creation of the Program.
  • Mapping contractors will be chosen by VTrans to do the initial creation/update. Criteria for choosing which contractors work with which towns will include towns preferences and the ability of contractors to create mapping data that meet the state standard.
  • A request for proposals will be published in late fall of 2016, seeking mapping contractors interested in working with multiple towns. We expect that about 1/3 of the state will be mapped each year for 3 years.

Why Statewide Property Parcel Mapping?

  • Parcel data support many kinds of mapping and analysis; here are just a few examples:
    • Fair and Accurate Taxation and Reappraisal
    • Informed Community Planning and Economic Development
    • Targeted Natural Resource Conservation
  • Current Parcel Data varies from town to town in terms of content, age, and availability, which makes it difficult to do mapping and analysis in some towns or across multiple towns.
  • An ongoing Program will work with each town to determine the best way to ensure annual data updates that continue to meet the state data standard: from simply collecting updated parcel data from the town’s mapping contractor, to actually editing and updating the parcel data for the town.

You will have more opportunities to learn about this project and provide your input:

  • Southern Windsor County RPC, September 7, 2016 – 2pm, Ascutney
  • VT Assessors and Listers Association Annual Meeting, September 19 in Fairlee
  • VLCT Town Fair, October 6 in Essex

Even if you do your parcels in-house:

  • You can take a year off and have a contractor bring them up to the standard.
  • You can continue to maintain them; you just have to meet the standard (VCGI will have resources to help)!

More information about the project will be posted as it becomes available at the VCGI website: https://vcgi.vermont.gov/parcels

Turn right onto Cameron Way after the bridge into South Royalton.  There is a parking lot to your right.  Oakes Hall is to your left and take the stairs up one flight, go right and Hoff Lounge is the last room on the right.
