designed for all Upper Valley residents including

community volunteer boards, municipal staff and

committee members, health care professionals,

community organizations, business owners and

interested citizens.

VHSA 4th Annual Meeting & Conference @ Mt. Snow

The meeting will be keynoted by Gary Margolis of Social Sentinel who will speak about the dynamics of partnerships in driver safety, one of the most important issues facing highway safety in Vermont. The day-long program will also feature several speakers discussing the benefits of relationships between public and private organizations designed to reinforce driver safety activities in Vermont, as well as reporting on current research in highway safety. A special Lifesaver’s Luncheon will honor law enforcement personnel who are on the front line of highway safety in Vermont. Vendor displays (free) are welcome: [email protected]

Act 174 Energy Planning Standards Information and Training Session @ Bethel Town Hall

Why, What and Where: Emergency Preparedness @ Billings Farm and Museum Theater

On Thursday, November 10, the Woodstock Emergency Operations Committee and members of the Woodstock Irene team invite you to an evening of how to be prepared for the next weather event. “Why, What and Where” will remind people of why storms like Irene will be only  more frequent, what we can do to be prepared, what to do when storms hit and where to go. Climatoligist Cath Geiger will give an explanation of the sceince behind the more frequent storms. Speakers from the Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission and the Community Emergency Response Team will give us the steps that we can take now to help us during a disaster. Representatives from the American Red Cross and Vermont Alert will be available to explain their services. Members of the Woodstock Irene Team will remind is how important it is to be prepared as a community, building on lessons that we learned during Irene.

Clean Water Advisory Committee Meeting @ TRORC

The Clean Water Advisory Committee will be having its first meeting to discuss an array of water quality related topics in the TRORC region. First meeting topics will include reclassification of specific surface waters in the Ottauquechee River Basin and White River Basin, the Final Required Agricultural Practices proposed rule, drought status in our region and steps we can take, and the relicensing status of dams on the Connecticut River.
