Interstate 89 Bridges Over the Connecticut River Public Info Meeting @ Kilton Library

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces a Public Informational meeting has been scheduled to discuss the proposed rehabilitation/replacement and widening of the Interstate 89 bridges over the Connecticut River in the City of Lebanon, New Hampshire and the Town of Hartford, Vermont.

This public meeting will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 7:00 pm at the Kilton Library, 80 Main Street in West Lebanon, New Hampshire. Plans will be displayed at 6:30 pm for all interested participants.

The purpose of this meeting is to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed project, and to solicit public input in order to ensure that project decisions meet public transportation needs, community goals, and protect and enhance the environment. Accordingly, the NHDOT assures that this project will be administered according to the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related statutes to ensure nondiscrimination.

Historic properties may exist within the project area.

Environmental and Regulatory Seminar @ Capitol Plaza Hotel, Montpelier

Associated Industries of Vermont will host a special Environmental and Regulatory Seminar on August 19.  The seminar will feature presentations, commentary, and audience Q&A with expert panelists from ANR and legal, engineering, and related private sector firms, and cover issues impacting private and public sector members of the regulated community and the professionals who serve them.

Both members and non-members are welcome to register by faxing or mailing a registration form by August 15.

The GUVTU Regular Chapter Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 5th in the downstairs meeting room at The Norwich Inn in Norwich, VT.  Ray Obar, an accomplished tier of salmon flies, will be presenting this month on a bit of history, common materials and patterns, and also providing a tying demo.  If you have a request to see a specific pattern tied, please contact Ray directly and he will try to fit it into the program:  [email protected].    Doors will open at 6 pm and Ray will begin at 6:30.  Food and drink will be available for purchase (there will be a Norwich Inn server available to us).
