Workshop: Using Land Use Planning to Sustain and Enhance Natural Resources @ Thetford Community Hall
Jan 15 @ 2:00 am – 4:00 am

Using Land Use Planning to Sustain and Enhanced Natural Resources – Our natural resources (rivers, lakes, streams, forests, wildlife, etc.) are an important part of what makes Vermont’s communities unique. These resources contribute to our towns by providing opportunities for outdoor recreation, solitude and as an economic stimulator.

Join the staff of the Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission in an evening workshop and discussion that focuses on how we can use land use planning as a tool to sustain and enhance our natural resources so that they may remain an essential and useful part of our communities for generations to come.

Guests will be guided through the natural resource planning tools that are offered through the Municipal Plan, Subdivision and Zoning regulations. Guests will have the opportunity to discuss the obstacles and opportunities these tools present in our towns.

This workshop will take place on Tuesday, January 14th at 7:00pm at the Thetford Community Hall (accross from the Thetford Town Offices). Refreshments will be provided. To RSVP, contact Chris Sargent at [email protected] or at 802-457-3188 ext 12.

Description: The time is right to join the conversation about new approaches to strengthening economic development and focusing efforts toward more locally-lead, regional efforts. In this role, he has led projects in more than 40 U.S. states and in Asia, Europe, and Latin America.  EntreWorks Consulting specializes in helping small cities and rural communities improve their capacities to support local innovators and entrepreneurs, and to nurture new drivers of local wealth creation.
