Regional Chapters Draft 2026
TRORC is in the process of updating our current Regional Plan, especially focusing on the chapters on land use and housing. A big part of this update is revising the current regional Future Land Use map. Revisions to the map will broaden our core village and downtown areas, creating more room for commercial uses and increased housing, as well as increasing access to state designation as areas that can receive a variety of financial benefits. Some of these areas currently have temporary Act 250 exemptions for housing.
The Regional Plan, once adopted in 2026 will lay the groundwork for the state’s Land Use Review Board to approve Tier 1A and 1B areas that will then have permanent Act 250 exemptions. Click here to read more about tiers.
