(Woodstock, VT)— The Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission (TRORC) would like to congratulate the recipients of the TRORC 2021 Scholarship Program.  Recipients were announced at the Annual Meeting of TRORC on June 23 and will receive $1,000 each toward the cost of their higher education pursuits.  The TRORC Board believes our region’s future is enhanced by both wise and forward-looking stewardship of the land, natural resources, and public institutions, and also through thoughtful investment in the next generation.  The TRORC scholarship is intended to encourage and recognize high school students pursuing career and life choices consistent with the vision and values of vibrant and sustainable communities as articulated in the TRORC Regional Plan.

Nancy Jones, TRORC’s Executive Committee Treasurer and Chair of the Scholarship Review Subcommittee spoke to reviewing this year’s applicants, “It is such a treat to review the applications and to learn about the accomplishments of these young people. All of the applicants are very impressive in terms of academic excellence, involvement in school and community activities, as well as aspirations for their futures.”

This year’s TRORC scholarship recipients are: Jackson Balch, Colby Brooks, Gretchen Josselyn, Ryelee Potwin and Finnian Sunde of Hartford High School, Victoria Bonsignore, Kendrick McCullough and Ryan Smith of White River Valley High School, Lilia McCullough of Woodstock High School, and Bridgid Armbrust who is homeschooled. Congratulations to these outstanding young adults and best wishes in their future endeavors!
