Electric Vehicles, Chargers & Mobile Machinery
Light-Duty Electric Vehicles
- Federal tax credit 30D – up to $7,500 for qualified models, applied at point-of-sale. This includes popular models such as the Ford F-150 Lightning, Tesla Model 3, and Volkswagen ID4.
- Federal tax credit 45W – up to 30% of purchase price or the incremental cost of the vehicle, up to $7,500 (whichever is less) for vehicles under 14,000 lbs. This incentive cannot be combined with 30D.
- Green Mountain Power rebate of up to $2,200. Can be combined with Electrify Your Fleet rebate (see below).
- Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) Electrify Your Fleet rebate of up to 25% of purchase price or $2,500 (whichever is less) for commercial fleet vehicles with an MSRP of $60,000 or less.
Medium- and Heavy-Duty Electric Vehicles
- Federal tax credit 45W – 30% of purchase price or the incremental cost of the vehicle, up to $40,000 (whichever is less) for vehicles 14,000 lbs. or above. Vehicle must be made by an IRS qualified manufacturer.
- Green Mountain Power ‘custom’ incentives.
Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment
- Federal Tax Credit 30C — 30% of project cost or $100,000 (whichever is lower) if prevailing wage requirement met, 6% if not
- Green Mountain Power rebates
- $750 per level-2 (240V) port
- $10,000 per level-3 (aka “DCFC”) charging site
- Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) Loans for EV charging
- Up to $25,000, or $100,000 for businesses located on federal highways (i.e. US-4 or US-5)
- 3% fixed interest rate
- 10% down plus 2% commitment fee
Mobile Machinery
- Federal tax credit 45W – 30% of purchase price or the incremental cost of the machinery, up to $40,000 (whichever is less) for machinery 14,000 lbs. or above. Up to $7,500 for machinery below 14,000 lbs. Machinery must be made by an IRS qualified manufacturer.
- Green Mountain Power rebate of $2,500 for commercial electric lawnmowers.
- Green Mountain Power rebate of $3,000 for new electric forklifts, $1,500 for used.
